Tibial plateau leveling osteotomy is a method of treating the instability caused by rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament in dogs. This surgery has yielded excellent clinical results in both partial and complete cranial cruciate ligament tears. The vast majority of dogs return to being very active and comfortable. Dr. Sams has been performing this surgery for over 10 years, and has performed the procedure on over 1000 patients and is very pleased with the results. It was originally performed in large dogs but the plate sizes are now available to offer the procedure to all-sized patients.
